WALLBREAKER GUIDE / 6 SECTIONS
Getting Started
From finding your first character to sending your first message.
Log in or create an account
In the login window, you can sign in with your Google or Apple account, or enter your email and password and click Log in. The Log in entry at the bottom-left of the sidebar also takes you to this window.
For a new account, click Sign up and register with your email address.
If you have forgotten your password, click Forgot password in the login window. Follow the instructions to reset it, then return to the window to log in with your new password.
Find a character
On Home, you can browse characters by their images and introductions, or explore the selection in Featured today. Each card includes the character’s name and creator, with more details available when you hover over it.
- Categories help you find characters that match the kind of story you want.
- Sort arranges the gallery by Popular, Newest, Popular chats, or Top rated.
- Filter narrows the gallery by gender and category tags. After choosing your preferences, click Apply filters. Reset clears the current filters.
Search for characters and creators
If you already have a name or keyword in mind, search is a quicker way to find a specific character or creator.
Step 1: Enter the name or keyword in Search characters at the top of Home.
Step 2: On the results page, choose Characters or Creators, then open the result you want to explore. If there are no matches, a shorter name or another keyword may help.
Start your first chat
Step 1: Hover over a character card to see the character’s name, creator, description, and tags. The comment and favorite buttons are at the bottom, with Chat now in the lower-right corner. The creator’s nickname opens their profile, where you can browse their public characters and favorites or subscribe to them.
Step 2: Click Chat now on the card. If a greeting selection appears, choose the opening you want and click Start chatting. Otherwise, Chat now takes you straight into the conversation.
Step 3: Reply to the greeting or introduce yourself. Your conversation will appear in Recent chats, ready for you to continue next time.
Block words and tags
Home’s Settings menu lets you manage blocked tags and words.
- Blocked tags hides characters with those tags from Discover, so you can leave out themes you do not want to browse.
- Blocked words asks the model to avoid the words you specify in its replies.
Your blocked words and tags appear in the list, where you can review them or remove any you no longer want to block. New entries can be added with Add or the Enter key. Your changes are saved automatically, so you can close the window with Done when you are finished.

Chatting
Make yourself at home, shape the conversation, and pick up where you left off.
Get to know the chat screen
The chat screen keeps your conversation in the center, with recent chats on the left and the character’s profile and settings on the right.
- Left panel: Characters you have chatted with appear in Recent chats. Select one to continue the conversation, or use the search field at the top to find a chat.
- Center: This is the main space for your conversation. You can write a message, share a picture, follow the story, or try a different response. The sections below explain the message controls.
- Right panel: The character’s profile sits alongside settings for their voice, model, background, and memories. From here, you can choose a voice, make a voice call, or open Memory Box.
Either side panel can be collapsed when you want more space for the conversation.
Send messages and images
- Text messages: Write in the message box and click Send. A question, an action, or a description of what happens next can all move the conversation forward. While a reply is being generated, Stop lets you stop it.
- Images: The attachment button beside the message box lets you choose a picture to share. You can check the preview or remove the image before clicking Send. For the character to understand the picture, choose a model marked Supports images.
Get help with your next reply
When you are unsure what to say, these options can help keep the conversation going:
- Inspiration offers suggested replies. You can choose one that fits the story or write your own instead.
- Continue gives the character another turn without a new message from you.
- Auto-inspiration / Auto-continue in the chat menu control whether these suggestions and shortcuts appear automatically.
Edit a message or try another response
Hover over a message to see its controls:
- Edit lets you change the text, then Save the update or Cancel it.
- Copy copies the message text.
- Delete removes that message.
- Regenerate asks for a different character response. You can choose the version you like and use the previous/next controls to revisit saved versions.
- Retry sends a failed request again.
Change the chat model
Models vary in writing style, speed, context length, and image support. You can try a different one without starting a new character.
Step 1: Open the menu beside the message box and click Chat model.
Step 2: Browse the model groups and read their descriptions. The star icon saves models you like to Favorites, so they are easy to find the next time you open this window.
Step 3: Select a model and context option, then click Change.
Choose your persona
A persona tells the character who you are in the story—for example, a traveling merchant, an old friend, or a new student.
Step 1: Open Persona from the chat menu.
Step 2: Choose an existing persona, or create one with a name, avatar, and a description of your background or relationship with the character.
Step 3: Activate the persona you want to use. Only one can be active at a time, and switching personas leaves earlier messages as they are.
Start a new chat or revisit an older one
- Start new chat begins another conversation with the same character, with a new greeting if several are available. Your current conversation is automatically archived, so you can try another opening or story without losing the previous one.
- History, in the chat menu, contains those earlier conversations. You can search by keyword or select a conversation to continue where you left off.
- Delete chat, in a recent chat’s menu, removes the chat entry after confirmation. You do not need to delete a chat to start another conversation.
Starting a new chat leaves the character’s saved memories in place. You can review those separately in Memory Box.
Use worldbooks and skills
- Worldbooks give the character background about places, people, and rules in the story. Open the worldbook entry in the character panel, or choose Add worldbook to find one in your library.
The library lets you review a worldbook before applying it to the character. For help making one, see Add a worldbook.
- Skills describe abilities and how the character uses them in conversation. Opening a card shows its instructions. See Add skill cards to create or add one.
Change the chat background
The Background switch in the character panel shows or hides the character image behind your messages.
Make a voice call
Step 1: Select Voice mode in the character panel. Allow microphone access when your browser asks.
Step 2: Speak once the call connects. You can interrupt the character by speaking at any time, and follow the conversation in Live transcription.
Step 3: Click End call when you are finished.
During the call:
- Mute turns your microphone off or on.
- Pause pauses the conversation.
- Speaker turns the character’s audio off or on.
- Collapse hides the transcript.
If the microphone or audio is not working, check your browser permissions and the on-screen error before trying again.

Creating Characters
Start with an idea. Give your character a face, a personality, and a story.
Choose how to create your character
On Home, click Create → Characters to open the character creation page.
There are two ways to begin:
- AI creation turns your description into a character draft.
- Custom creation lets you add the images and fill in the character’s details yourself.
Create a draft with AI
Step 1: In AI creation, describe the character, their relationship with you, and the opening situation.
Step 2: Click Generate character. AI prepares a draft with these fields:
- Public profile: Name, gender, age, short introduction, and description.
- Basic persona: Definition, scenario, greetings, categories, tags, and a suggested voice.
- Advanced persona: Additional character details and example dialogue.
- Appearance: A generated cover and an avatar cropped from it.
Step 3: Review the result in Custom creation. You can change any generated details and complete missing fields. If a cover or advanced details could not be generated, you can add them yourself. Check the model and visibility before publishing.
Use Custom creation
In Custom creation, the six sections on the left organize the form: appearance, display settings, basic persona, advanced persona, worldbook, and skill cards. Fields marked with an asterisk are required, and the AI buttons beside individual fields can help you draft them.
The right-hand panel previews your character as you edit, so you can check how the card looks and try a conversation before publishing.
Preview the card and chat
- Card style shows how the character will look on a card. It is useful for checking the cover, name, and introduction together.
- Chat preview lets you try the greeting and test replies before publishing. If the character does not sound as you intended, adjust the definition or speaking style and try again.
The preview does not publish the character. You can return to it while completing any of the sections below.
Add a cover and album
Step 1: In Character appearance, upload a main cover. It appears on the character card, and an avatar is cropped from its center.
Step 2: Adjust the crop so the face is visible. You can add album images to show other poses or scenes.
Step 3: Check the cover and avatar in the preview. Supported formats are WebP, PNG, GIF, and JPEG, with a file size under 5 MB.
The AI image option also lets you describe an appearance, pose, setting, and lighting, then apply a result you like.
Fill in the public profile
Character display settings introduces your character to people browsing their card or profile:
- Character name, Gender, Age: Basic information about the character.
- Short introduction: A brief reason to start a conversation—who the character is, or what is happening when the user meets them.
- Character description: Background and story details visitors should know before chatting.
Set the personality and opening scene
In Basic persona, these fields shape the conversation:
- Character definition describes identity, personality, background, and usual behavior.
- Scenario explains where the story begins and what is happening.
- Character greeting is the first message the user sees. A question, action, or situation gives them something to respond to. You can add more greetings for different openings.
- Categories and tags help people find the character. You can choose up to three categories and five tags.
The remaining settings control the model and what you share:
- Model settings determines which chat model the character uses. Change the chat model explains the available choices.
- Character visibility controls whether the character is public or private.
- Public definition controls whether other users can read the character’s definition. A public character can still have a private definition.
Import a character card
Step 1: Click Import character JSON at the top of the creation page and choose your character’s JSON file.
Step 2: The import fills in the character’s details and images. AI may help organize or complete additional details; if AI completion is unavailable, the original card fields can still be imported.
Step 3: In Custom creation, choose the character’s categories and tags yourself. Review the imported definition, greetings, scenario, and images, then complete any missing required fields before publishing.
Choose a voice
Step 1: Open Voice settings in Basic persona.
Step 2: Browse Discover or My voices, search by name, or use the filters. The preview button lets you hear a voice before choosing it.
Step 3: Select the voice you want and click Apply. It will be used for spoken replies, and you can change it later from the character panel in a chat.
To create a voice of your own, see Design a voice or Clone a voice.
When chatting, a character message’s playback button reads it aloud. The character panel also includes:
- Autoplay voice, which plays new replies automatically.
- Read narration, which includes descriptive narration in the audio.
These work in Text mode. For a live conversation, see Make a voice call.
Add more detail with Advanced persona
Advanced persona is optional. If you leave it blank, the character still uses your definition, scenario, and greetings. Filling it in gives you more control over specific aspects of their behavior:
- Appearance and background establish facts the character can refer to in the story.
- Motivations, values, and relationships explain what matters to them and why they react a certain way.
- Speaking style and behavior describe how they talk and act—for example, cautious answers at first, becoming more open as they get to know the user.
- Example dialogue shows a sample exchange in the voice you want them to use.
These details work best when they are consistent with the basic definition. You can use the AI buttons for help drafting individual fields and test the result in Chat preview.
Add a worldbook
A worldbook stores background about locations, organizations, events, rules, items, and other people in the story.
Step 1: Open Worldbook. You can choose one from the library, create one yourself, generate one from the character’s definition, or use Import story to bring in source material.
Step 2: Review the summary and entries. Each entry should focus on one subject. To edit a shared worldbook, add an editable copy to your collection using the option provided.
Step 3: Save the worldbook and apply it to the character.
Add skill cards
Skills describe abilities and how to use them—for example, solving a mystery, offering comfort, or casting a small flame.
Step 1: In Skill cards, choose a card from the library or click Create skill.
Step 2: For a new skill, add a name, introduction, and instructions covering what it does, when to use it, and its limits. You can write the instructions, import a supported file, or generate them from an idea.
Step 3: Review and save the skill, then add it to the character. Removing it from the character leaves it in your collection.
Save a draft or publish
You can click Save draft to finish the character later. Drafts, at the top of the creation page, lists saved characters with a Continue editing option. Drafts are stored in the current browser for your account, so use the same browser to return to them.
When you are ready to publish:
Step 1: Complete the required fields and check the character’s visibility. You can use Preview the card and chat for a final check.
Step 2: Click Publish character.
Step 3: Check the publication result. If it fails, keep the draft and use the retry option.
In Drafts → Publication history, you can review publication records. Copy as new draft starts a variation when a saved snapshot is available. Clear all fields clears the current form and draft, so check its confirmation before proceeding.

Voices
You can design a voice from a description or clone one from an audio sample. To choose a character’s voice, see Choose a voice.
Open voice creation
On Home, click Create → Voices. Voice design starts from a description, while Voice cloning starts from a recording.
Design a voice
Step 1: Choose Voice design and select a model.
Step 2: Enter a Voice description, including pitch, texture, pace, accent, and tone. For example: “A warm, low voice with a relaxed pace and a slight rasp.” Add Preview text to hear how it reads a line.
Step 3: Generate a preview and listen. You can refine the description or generate another version until you like the result, then complete the voice details below.
Clone a voice
Step 1: Choose Voice cloning and select a model.
Step 2: Upload an MP3, WAV, or M4A recording, up to 20 MB and between 10 and 300 seconds long. A clear sample with little background noise gives a better reference. Only clone audio you have permission to use.
Step 3: Play the sample to check it, then complete the voice details below.
Save your voice
Step 1: Enter the voice’s name, gender, age, and language. You can add up to three tags, an optional description, and choose its visibility.
Step 2: Check the preview greeting or text. This becomes the fixed preview and cannot be changed after creation.
Step 3: Complete the rights-and-use confirmation and click Create voice. Its status appears in My voices, with a retry action if creation fails.
Find and manage voices
- Discover is the voice library. You can search or filter by gender, age, source, and language, listen to previews, and favorite voices you want to find again.
- My voices brings together saved voices and favorites. The edit controls let you update available details, although the fixed audio preview cannot be changed. Records marked Creating or Creation failed show the status of voices that are not ready yet.
Your creations also appear under Profile → All voices and Public voices. See My Studio for those lists.
FEATURE HIGHLIGHT / 2 SECTIONS
Memory Box
Memory Box keeps details from your conversations, such as shared events, preferences, and promises, so the character can refer to them later.
Open Memory Box
Step 1: Open Memory box from the character panel or chat menu.
Step 2: If permanent memory is off, read the introduction and choose whether to enable it. Once enabled, the conversation is summarized and memories are updated as you chat. This can take a little time.
Browse and manage memories
Memory Box brings the following controls together in one place:
- Permanent memory turns the use of saved memories on or off. Turning it off keeps existing entries.
- Categories include Shared memories, Character profile, About you, Shared habits, Emotions & preferences, and Important memories. All gives you an overview. Shared memories also groups key events, promises and tasks, meaningful items, and relationships.
- Search and details: You can search within a category, then open a card to see the people, time, place, and other details recorded.
- Mark as important gives a detail priority and adds it to Important memories. Unmark as important removes that priority without deleting it.
- Delete memory removes an entry after confirmation. This cannot be undone, but the original chat messages remain.
If a detail is wrong, you can delete the entry and clarify the information in your chat. Memory entries cannot currently be rewritten directly.
